Energy efficient measures are actions, which allow an increased output from the same amount of input or help achieve the same output with lesser input. Economically speaking the increasing energy efficiency results in energy saving.
Potential energy efficiency measures can be identified on any level: building-related, between several locations (transportation, distribution) or focused on single a process or unit. In this manner energy saving is possible in households as well as in industries. Because of technology to use present energy within the manufacturing, like waste heat, there is an enormous potential within industrial enterprises. With an increase of energy efficiency the energy costs get reduced and the profitability improves.
